Educational Writing Boards promotes sustainable building:
We are proud to announce that as of the 10th of January 2009, Krommenie Cork (Forbo Bulletin Board) will be carrying the Australian Eco-Label. The Australian Eco-Label Program was launched in November 2001 by Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA). The label is awarded to products that meet voluntary environmental performance standards, which have been created and assessed in conformance to international environmental labeling standards. It provides an ecological mark of recognition to the environmentally conscious consumer.

Educational Writing Board’s vitreous whiteboard writing surface, e3 Environmental Ceramicsteel™, has achieved environmental certification in September 2008. This exceptional porcelain enamel writing surface, which is used predominantly in schools and universities, has received International McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC) Cradle-to-Cradle Silver Certification. Cradle-to-Cradle Certification takes into account the environmental impact of a product during its entire life cycle, from the amount of energy and waste needed to manufacture the product to its ability to be recycled.

The Green Building Council of Australia operates Australia's only national environmental rating system for buildings, Green Star, which evaluates the green attributes of building projects based on a number of criteria, including energy and water efficiency, indoor environment quality and resource conservation. Through the application of Krommenie Cork (Forbo Bulletin Board) and Vitreous Whiteboards by Educational Writing Boards, school and office buildings will have a reduced environmental footprint, taking them one step closer to achieve Green Star sustainable building rating.
